Steven Adams, 58, of Salem, died in his cell at the Marion County Jail on September 1, 2025. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said deputies found him unresponsive shortly after 7:53 a.m. that Monday. The sheriff's office said the death is under investigation and has not said how or why he died.
