Stephone Marshall
Stephone Lvon Marshall was 38 and held at Elmore Correctional Facility. On May 16, 2023, he was found injured in his dormitory after what the Alabama Department of Corrections described as an assault by another man held there. He was taken to the prison's health care unit and died of his injuries; the Equal Justice Initiative recorded that he had been stabbed. The department said it had identified the person it believed responsible.
