Stephen West, 56, was executed in Tennessee's electric chair on the evening of August 15, 2019, and was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m. after two jolts of electricity, according to a reporter who witnessed it. His legal team told a witness that he suffered from severe mental illness and had found faith before his execution. Before he died he ate a final meal of a Philly cheesesteak and French fries and spoke his last words, "In the beginning, God created man."
