Stephen Kovacs
Stephen Kovacs, 49, owned and founded Kaprica United Fencing Academy in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and had coached the Ridge High School boys fencing team as well as fencing at Duke University and Stevens Institute of Technology. He died on or around January 15, 2022, while held at the Somerset County Jail in Somerville, where he had been held since October 2021, according to his attorney, James Wronko. The New Jersey Attorney General's Office said the death is being investigated by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, which was assigned to avoid a conflict of interest. No cause of death has been released.
