Spencer Troy McLaughlin
Spencer Troy McLaughlin, 46, of Newark, was held at the Licking County jail when he was found with a sheet tied around his neck in his cell. He died on January 14, 2015, two days later, at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. Sheriff Randy Thorp said the death did not appear to result from neglect by guards and that McLaughlin was not on suicide watch. The sheriff's office describes the death as a suicide by hanging.
