Sonny Charles Leppala
Sonny Charles Leppala, 55, died at the Birmingham City Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was being held. He was found dead in a cell around 1:30 p.m. on January 20, 2025. The Jefferson County Coroner said there was no evidence of trauma or foul play and that the cause of death is pending further laboratory studies. The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death.
