Smaker Mankiller
Smaker Mankiller, an American Indian man, was hanged at Fort Smith, Arkansas, as one of six men put to death together. The Fort Worth Daily Gazette reported the hanging on September 29, 1887, relaying an account from the hangman. Mankiller's name appears in that report alongside the other five men.
