Sheryl Bentley
Sheryl Bentley, 58, became unresponsive inside a housing unit at the Douglas County Department of Corrections in Omaha on August 17, 2016. The jail said staff began CPR, and she was taken by Omaha Fire and Rescue to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center, where she died that night. The Sheriff's Office opened an investigation, as state law requires for deaths in custody, and her cause and manner of death were still pending.
