Shawnessey McKnight
Shawnessey McKnight, 53, died on February 13, 2013, after he was held at the Pottawattamie County Jail in Iowa. Sheriff Jeff Danker said McKnight cut both sides of his neck with a razor in the jail and that a background check and interview had not revealed any suicidal tendencies. The sheriff's office said staff shackled him in order to give aid, and McKnight died after being taken to the hospital.
