Shannon Palmer
Shannon Palmer, 40, was held at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Lewis in Buckeye, Arizona, when he was killed by his cellmate in September 2010. According to medical examiner testimony cited by the Arizona Supreme Court, he was beaten and cut with a razor blade. He died on the way to the hospital. In 2017 the Arizona Supreme Court ordered a new sentencing hearing for the man convicted in his death, ruling that jurors had not been told about parole eligibility during the penalty phase.
