Shalanda Hurd
Shalanda Hurd, 40, was held at the Crittenden County Detention Center in Arkansas, where she had been since February 2023, and was found unresponsive in her cell in early November 2023. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory determined she died of acute fentanyl and cocaine toxicity, and state police said she died of an overdose. Investigators said security footage showed another person held at the jail sliding contraband under her cell door shortly before she was found, and that person was later charged in connection with her death.
