Died in prison
Shadae Schmidt
Friends called Shadae Schmidt DaeDae, and a friend from her years at Valley State Prison, Krys Shelley, recalled their last conversations as full of laughter. In February 2014 she had a stroke while held in the Security Housing Unit at the California Institution for Women in Corona and was taken to a hospital. According to the account, she was returned to her SHU cell less than three weeks later, and she was found dead there on March 24, 2014.
