Sean Barrett, 60, was held at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution in Nebraska. He died on June 8, 2026, at a hospital in Lincoln, where he was being treated for a medical condition. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said the cause of death has not been determined. As with every death in the department's custody, a grand jury will investigate.
