Scotty Dearing
Scotty Dearing, 45, died on September 4, 2026, while held at the Brown County Jail in Ohio. Sheriff Chris Hodges said he became ill during a medical examination and appeared to have a cardiac event when EMS arrived. The Ripley Bee reported that he became ill while being examined by medical staff and was moved to an ambulance before the cardiac event. He was taken to Mt. Orab Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Hamilton County Coroner's Office is handling the investigation, and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections is also investigating.
