Scott Plate
Scott Plate, 43, played football at Columbia Central High School and the University of Iowa and later in the Canadian Football League, and he coached high school football. He had three children, and his father said, 'Scott Plate, a Christian, now is through his troubles.' Plate died on August 25, 2013, while held at the Lucas County jail in Toledo, Ohio. The county sheriff's office said it did not suspect foul play, but the cause of death was not clear at the time of reporting. His family said he had been recovering well from a 2012 head injury and was working.
