Scott McCoy
Scott McCoy, 45, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Danville Adult Detention Center early on November 19, 2023, and was pronounced dead at Sovah Health a short time later. Danville Police said the department asked the Virginia State Police to conduct an independent investigation into his death. One report said the Virginia Department of Corrections would also review it. The cause and manner of death have not been publicly stated.
