Scott E. Deines
Scott E. Deines, 46, of Great Bend, died on July 25, 2021, while held at the Barton County Jail in Kansas. Detention officers found him unresponsive in his cell, and Great Bend Fire Department EMS pronounced him dead. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says he was injured in a physical altercation with another man at the jail on July 22, and an autopsy attributed his death to blunt force trauma to the head. The KBI says another man has been arrested in connection with the death.
