Santos Ortez
Santos Ortez was held at the Pueblo police station in Pueblo, Colorado, on September 13, 1919. According to an Associated Press report, a heavily armed mob entered the station that Saturday night, held the desk sergeant at gunpoint, and forced the jailer to release him and another man. About 40 minutes after they were taken from the jail, both men were found hanging from the Fourth Street bridge. Police said the mob had grabbed the wrong men.
