Samuel Ward
Samuel Ward was 39 years old. In March 2024 he was found unresponsive in his cell at Limestone Correctional Facility in Alabama after what the Department of Corrections called an apparent assault by another incarcerated person, and he died after being taken to the health care unit. The department said it had identified two people it believed were responsible, and the autopsy was still pending.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. The Alabama Department of Corrections says Samuel Ward was apparently assaulted by another prisoner, and the autopsy is pending.
