Samuel Shields
Samuel Shields, 49, was held at the Prince George's County jail in Maryland. His widow, Regina Shields, says he was a good person who had health problems and that he had schizophrenia. He became medically distressed at the jail in June 2014 and later died. A woman at the jail told NBC4 Washington she saw several officers beating him, and his widow alleges that correction officers beat him during a schizophrenic episode. The jail declined to comment, and the medical examiner ruled his death natural, a finding the family disputes.
