Samuel Martinez
Samuel Martinez, 61, of Brentwood, was held at the West County Detention Center in Contra Costa County, according to the sheriff's office. Sheriff's office spokesman Jimmy Lee said he suffered multiple seizures on December 24, 2019, and was taken to hospitals. On December 26, 2019, while still at the hospital after being cleared for release, he collapsed and died, and the sheriff's office said the cause and manner are still pending. The district attorney's office and the sheriff's office are investigating his death.
