Samantha Young
Samantha Young, 21, of Cincinnati, died while held at the Butler County Jail in Hamilton, Ohio, in January 2018. Sheriff Richard K. Jones said a corrections officer found her in her cell with a bed sheet tied around her neck, and that the coroner's office pronounced her dead. Authorities said it appears to be a suicide and that the investigation is continuing. A later WHIO report said she had been involved in an altercation with another person held at the facility shortly before her death.
Cause of death, as reported: Died by suicide. The Butler County coroner's office said she hanged herself in the Butler County jail, and the Sheriff's Office said it appeared to be a suicide while it and the coroner were still investigating.
