Sam Powell

Sam Powell, an 18-year-old Black man, was being held in the jail at Hultig, Arkansas. On the night of Thursday, July 14, 1910, a mob broke into the jail, took him out and hanged him. His body was found the next morning. The Garland Globe reported that the jail was broken into without much effort.
