Rueben Gonzalez, a 47-year-old Hispanic man, died on November 26, 2020, while held at Colorado State Penitentiary in Cañon City, Fremont County, in the custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections. According to records compiled by UCLA Law Behind Bars, the Department of Corrections classified the manner of his death as homicide. His family's account of his death has not been found in the sources used for this memorial.
