Ruben Martinez
Ruben Martinez, 28, died on October 18, 2022, while held at the Macomb Correctional Facility in Lenox Township, Michigan. The Michigan Department of Corrections said his cellmate stabbed him in their cell. Prosecutors said his cellmate killed him and that the death involved strangulation as well as stabbing. The department's description of stab wounds differs from prosecutors' account of how he was killed.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Michigan prosecutors say his cellmate hogtied, strangled and stabbed him at the Macomb Correctional Facility in October 2022.
