Ruben Banuelos
Ruben Banuelos, 37, was a family man with three children, and his brother described him as big-hearted, forgiving, loving and caring, always putting others first. He was held at the Tehama County Jail in California and was admitted to a local hospital on February 21, 2023, after symptoms of an illness began. The Tehama County Sheriff's Office said he died in the hospital after three days and that a medical examination found a pre-existing condition unrelated to his incarceration. The coroner and investigators are still reviewing the death, and his family plans a wrongful death lawsuit.
