Died in jail or a lockup
Roy W. Deronde Jr.
Roy W. Deronde Jr., of Edwardsville, died on March 27, 2024, while in county custody at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. The county coroner responded to an area hospital in connection with his death. The Luzerne County District Attorney's office is investigating, and the county manager said a statement would follow when that investigation is complete. The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency lists the manner of death as pending.
