Ronnie Hughes
Ronnie Hughes, 56, died on November 27, 2018, while held at the Polunsky Unit prison in Livingston, Texas. He had previously worked for Axtell ISD as a school employee. Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials said he appears to have died of natural causes, though the cause was pending and an autopsy had been ordered. Staff were reported to have found him in respiratory distress on the floor of a dorm area and called for emergency medical help, and he was pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m.
