Ronald Roy
Ronald Roy, 71, of Errol, New Hampshire, died on Sunday, August 28, 2022, in the infirmary of Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vermont, where he was being held. His federal public defender described him as elderly and infirm and said he had expressed frustration and sadness while held, and the Vermont Defender General said he had medical conditions. In a preliminary statement, the Vermont State Police said the death did not appear suspicious, and at the time an autopsy was pending at the state chief medical examiner's office. Department of Corrections records list the cause of death as bacterial pneumonia of the right lung and the manner as natural, and mark the investigations, including those by the Defender General and State Police, as complete.
