Ronald James Ward Jr. was found in his cell in a high security housing unit at Montana State Prison in April 2014 and taken to a local hospital, where he died around 7 p.m. A prison news release described the death as unexpected. The state medical examiner was to perform an autopsy, and no cause of death had been announced.
