Ronald J. Blake
Ronald J. Blake, 51, of Olathe, held a special floor worker position in a work area of the Douglas County Jail in Lawrence, Kansas, and died there on January 13, 2021. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office described the death as a suspected suicide and said the Kansas Bureau of Investigation was called in, as state law requires for deaths in correctional facilities not attended by a physician. Staff and officers told the sheriff's office that he appeared in good spirits earlier that day. The office expressed sympathy to his family and to the officers and people held at the jail who knew him.
