Ronald Halkmon, 48, died at Potosi Correctional Center in Mineral Point, Missouri, around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, according to the Missouri Department of Corrections, which announced the death on January 21. The department has not given a cause of death, and an autopsy had not yet been completed when it made the announcement. FOX 2 reported that his death was one of five at the prison since January 14, 2026, and that the department is releasing few details while autopsy results are pending.
