Roman Luna Mora Jr.
Roman Luna Mora Jr., 29, of Fountain, was held at the Pitt County Detention Center in North Carolina. Officials say a detention officer found him with an attempted suicide by hanging in his cell on August 22, 2025. He was taken to ECU Health Medical Center, where he died on August 25. Officials list the death as a suicide, and it was reported to the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation and the State Bureau of Investigation, which has an investigation underway.
