Rolando Cardona-Gueton
Rolando Cardona-Gueton, a 62-year-old native of Cuba, was found dead in his cell at the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison on April 20, 2013. Officials first could not say whether his death was a homicide or a suicide. Sevier County attorney Brody Keisel said that after months of investigation, a cellmate strangled him with a weapon made from woven bed sheet strips, and the cellmate was charged with aggravated murder. Investigators said race may have been a factor, but the prosecutor said he could not be certain of this.
