Roger Schmidt

Roger Schmidt, 74, died at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln shortly before 2 a.m. on December 19, 2018. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said he had been under treatment for long-term medical conditions. The department said the cause of death has not been determined, and a grand jury will investigate the death, as it does for every death in its custody.
