Rodney J. Johnson
Rodney J. Johnson, 51, of Springfield, died on April 15, 2021, after being held at the Christian County Jail in Taylorville, Illinois. Jail staff found him unresponsive in his cell and he was taken by ambulance to Taylorville Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Christian County Coroner Amy Calvert Winans said preliminary autopsy results point to medical-related issues and that no foul play is suspected, with toxicology results still pending. The Illinois State Police are investigating the death.
