Rodney Hargrove
Rodney Hargrove, 20, was released on bail from the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility in Philadelphia in the early morning of March 18, 2021, and was waiting at a SEPTA bus stop across from the jail for his family to pick him up. Philadelphia police and prisons officials said a driver in a dark vehicle then pursued him under the raised gate arm onto jail grounds, where he was shot multiple times near a shack by the main gate and pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said it was unclear why he was targeted, and the shooting remained under investigation. His family's account of the shooting is not in these sources.
