Roderick Samuels
Roderick Samuels, 71, was held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia, South Carolina. He was taken to Prisma Health Richland hospital on July 25, 2024, after a medical emergency, and went into cardiac arrest. He died in the early morning hours of July 28, 2024. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said opioids were involved, but the coroner had not released a cause of death, and the sheriff's department said it was not notified until after the death.
