Robinson

died October 6, 1906 · Mobile County, Alabama

Dick Robinson was in the custody of Mobile County Sheriff Powers while being brought from Birmingham to Mobile, and the Montgomery Advertiser reported that a masked mob took him from the sheriff and a deputy near Magazine Point and hanged him. The sheriff said he was overpowered. The Broad Ax reported that the sheriff and deputy did not resist and let the men be taken off the train, though it placed the seizure near Pritchard, and other accounts give different places for it. A coroner's jury found that Robinson came to his death at the hands of parties unknown.
