Robert Williams
Robert Williams was executed in the electric chair in Nebraska in 1997, one of three executions carried out under Governor Ben Nelson. Witnesses, including a television reporter, described the reading of the death warrant and the application of the electric current. In a letter to Governor Nelson before his death, Williams wrote that he was at peace with his sentence, had found God and did not blame the governor, the Omaha World-Herald reported. State Sen. Ernie Chambers, who attended the execution, said Williams was nicked while being shaved beforehand and that first aid was given.
