Robert Wayne Shingleton
Robert Wayne Shingleton, 48, of Aguanga, died on April 26, 2026, while held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, Riverside County, California. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department said deputies were alerted that he was choking on food in his cell, and that jail staff treated him before he was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's department said the county coroner will determine the manner and cause of death, and a law firm's account says the circumstances are still under investigation.
