Witnesses told a lawsuit filed by Benjamin Crump's office on behalf of his family that he had a medical emergency, foaming at the mouth, vomiting and going in and out of consciousness for about 90 minutes before receiving help. The lawsuit says officers dragged him into a cell and beat him, and that he did not get treatment for head trauma or internal bleeding. The jail's account of the medical emergency and the lawsuit's allegations of the beating have not been resolved in the reporting.
