Robert Swayze
A Yazoo City report published in the Daily Dispatch on December 30, 1883, said an armed crowd came to the jail on the evening of December 29, 1883, and took Robert Swayze from his cell. He was lynched by the mob. The account is secondhand and gives no further information about him, and no statement from the jail or sheriff is recorded.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A Yazoo City report reprinted in the Daily Dispatch says an armed crowd took Robert Swayze from the jail cell and lynched him.
