Robert Stewart
Robert Stewart was 80 years old and lived with advanced chronic health conditions while held at Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore, Alabama. He developed symptoms and was sent to a hospital on June 8, 2020, testing positive for COVID-19 two days later. He died there on Sunday, June 14. After his death, 13 patients in the Staton infirmary also tested positive for the virus, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
