Robert Prine
Robert Prine, 42, was held at the George County Community Work Center and was working at the back of a garbage truck on old Highway 63 near Lucedale on July 6, 2017. The Mississippi Highway Patrol said an SUV stopped behind the truck was rear-ended by a second SUV, which plowed into the truck and struck him, and he died. The other worker on the truck was treated at a hospital and returned to state custody. The Mississippi Department of Corrections has suspended the work crew pending an investigation and a corrective plan.
