Robert Mossey
Robert Mossey, 38, of Burlington, died on August 30, 2013, after he was found unconscious in a bathroom mop closet at Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport. He was later pronounced dead at North Country Hospital in Newport. Vermont State Police said they believe he hanged himself. His stepfather, Todd Jimmo, a former Vermont corrections officer, said he wants assurances that appropriate steps were taken and questions whether Mossey should have been placed on suicide watch. Three state agencies are examining whether the death could have been prevented.
