Robert Joseph Long

Robert J. Long, 65, was a loving father, his attorney said, and his daughter Sarah Crosby was among the family who came to support him. He was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison in Raiford on May 23, 2019, after more than three decades on death row. His attorney and family said they were devastated, and a small group of protesters held a prayer vigil during the execution. Relatives of victims and a survivor spoke publicly about the execution, with differing reactions.
