Robert Enoch
Robert Enoch was 35 years old and had a son. A friend, Tracii Barse, said Enoch had committed to turning himself in and had secured a place in a drug treatment program with help from Barse and his parole officer. He died on April 3, 2023, after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Charles Mix County Jail in Lake Andes, and his death certificate lists methamphetamine toxicity. A state commission found that the deputy who brought him in lacked training to recognize overdose signs and that the jail had no overdose policy, though it decided not to reprimand the deputy. Barse says he is pushing for accountability in Enoch's honor.
