Robert Earl Edwards, 64, died on the hospice unit of the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville on the morning of September 25, 2026, while held there in the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections. The department announced his death in a press release on September 28, 2026. According to that release, no cause of death has been given.
