Robert Dwight Degnan
Robert Dwight Degnan, 89, was a doctor who for about three decades served as the obstetrician and gynecologist at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier. He died on October 24, 2021, while held at the Idaho State Correctional Institution. The Ada County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy but said the cause and manner of death would not be released until further testing was complete, which could take several weeks. The Idaho Department of Correction and the Ada County Sheriff's Office are investigating, and a department news release said there were no signs of foul play or self-inflicted wounds.
